The Soul of Southern Italy

Day 1 – Arrival in Puglia
Arrive in Bari and transfer to your countryside retreat, Masseria Petrarolo, a restored 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by olive trees and Adriatic breezes. Settle in and enjoy a traditional welcome dinner prepared by your private chef.
Day 2 – Olive Oil & The White City of Ostuni
Discover one of Puglia’s oldest olive estates and learn about the art of oil making from grove to bottle. Enjoy a private tasting and a picnic lunch beneath centuries-old trees. Later, explore the gleaming white city of Ostuni before dining on fresh seafood in nearby Polignano a Mare.
Day 3 – Lecce & Salento Wine Country
Travel south to Lecce, the “Florence of the South,” where baroque architecture glows in golden stone. A private walking tour unveils its hidden courtyards and artisan workshops. After lunch in a noble palazzo, visit a family-run vineyard for a tasting of Puglia’s elegant Salento wines. Return to the Masseria for dinner under the stars.
Day 4 – Trulli Country & Burrata Making
Cycle through the Itria Valley between olive groves and stone walls. Visit the UNESCO town of Alberobello with its iconic trulli houses, then stop at a local dairy to see burrata made by hand. Continue to the hill towns of Locorotondo and Martina Franca before returning to your villa for a relaxed evening meal.
Day 5 – Slow Living & Cooking in the Countryside
Spend the morning at leisure enjoying the Masseria’s gardens, pools, and hammam. In the late afternoon, join a hands-on cooking class at a nearby farmhouse. Learn to make traditional pasta and local dishes alongside warm Pugliese hosts, pairing your creations with regional wines.
Day 6 – The Ancient City of Matera
Cross into Basilicata to explore Matera, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Walk through the sassi, a network of cave dwellings and churches carved into the rock. Enjoy lunch in an 11th-century cave restaurant before returning to Puglia for dinner at the Masseria.
Day 7 – A Day to Savor
Relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings; swim, read, or walk through the olive groves. In the evening, celebrate your final night with a special dinner prepared by your chef featuring the best local ingredients of Puglia.
Day 8 – Departure
Transfer to Bari for your onward journey, carrying with you the warmth, flavors, and quiet charm of southern Italy.
